St Peter’s Church, Smeaton

The Heart of the Community

Visiting Smeaton Church.

Smeaton Church offers a warm welcome, It is a grade 2* listed building built in the 12th and 13th Centuries, although there was a church here in 1086AD. It can easily accommodate 100, with standing room for more, though it looks full and is comfortable with far fewer. There is a modern efficient heating system. The clergy and people are friendly and go out of their way to make visitors feel welcome.

Finding Smeaton Church.

Smeaton Church is in the heart of the village of Kirk Smeaton. It is on the main street through the village, just after the Shoulder of Mutton, if coming from Wentedge Road, or just before if coming from Little Smeaton. Smeaton is just off the A1, and is 2 miles south of the M62/A1 junction.
