Enquiries for Baptisms, weddings and funerals to the Vicar in the first instance please

By Phone:  01977 704744 Please speak loudly after the tone to leave a message.

By Email: thevicar at darringtonchurch dot com

By Letter: The Vicarage, Darrington, WF8 3AB

At Church: Please check the Sunday Service rota to make sure the vicar will be at the service you attend before you make a long journey.

In Person: by appointment or in emergency please.
Via A third party: this is notoriously unreliable, please avoid this.
Advantages and disadvantaged of each method:

Phone: Phoning the vicar is a good way of communicating with him, if he is in. You will get the answer phone on Fridays.

Email: this is the best method of communication when it works as it allows a considered response and likely a quicker response than any other.
Not all emails are delivered however. Some emails are caught by spam filters.
Emails above a certain size may not be permitted by email servers. Please print and post large documents, or legal documents.

Letter: Snail Mail still works, and is best for complicated or lengthy letters or documents.
The vicar can send several emails in the time it takes to go to the postbox.

At Church: there is often a queue of people, and the vicar is often on his way somewhere else, but face to face communication is best.

In Person: uninterrupted time to discuss things is more appropriate pastorally.
In an emergency please knock on the door at any time day or night. NB Neither the presence of a car or the absence of a car is indicative that the vicar is in.
